Vintage 2018 – A record-breaking wine year?

While we enjoy this year’s hot and sunny summer days – and I hope that you do so too - many vintners in the northern hemisphere are already very busy preparing for the grape harvest. Following an extended period of dry, hot weather in May, June and July, the harvest in many wine regions in Europe will start soon (or has already started), about one month earlier than usual. And the forecast for this year’s wine quality is brilliant, provided that the weather will be warm and dry during harvest. Even countries that are better known for their rather cold and rainy weather than for wine, like the UK, forecast an extraordinary vintage...

So I am looking forward to this year’s wine and wish you in the meantime remaining great summer days!
